6 Months!

Silas turned 6 months on the 22nd! It is so hard to believe he has already been here for half a year! I guess it would be a good time to finally blog his birthstory too, huh?

He had his 6th month appointment a few days before his big half birthday.  He was 22lbs. 8oz and 27.5" long!! He seems to have finally slowed down on the weight gain but is obviously still a big boy! He got one shot and only cried for a few seconds.  HE checked out perfect, this was the first month to fill out an Ages and Stages questioneer and most things he was above where he should be for his age.  Big and smart! ;)

A few days after turning 6 months we declared him officially a sitter! That's been fun, especially now that he got a little piano for Christmas- he can sit and play it!
He's getting around pretty good too- I wouldn't say he's officially crawling but he uses his hands and arms to turn his body wherever he wants to go and plus he rolls like crazy so keeping him on a blanket in the middle of the floor desn't work anymore.  Of course his big brothers got lots of legos and Star Wars guys with lots of little pieces for Christmas :/

He's been starting the night in the crib every night and then I'll bring him in our bed when he wakes up.  He's also napping in his crib! He doesn't always take the best (longest!) naps although some days he'll get a 2-3hour one in! My sister-in-law bought him a sea horse that plays music and has a light up belly for Christmas.  We've been putting it in the crib and it seems to be helping him fall back alseep when he wakes up too soon.  We'll keep using it and hopefully he'll have more longer naps! He's been getting pretty easily distracted when nursing so when others (ie. his brothers..) are around I go sit in my dark bedroom and nurse him.  I know it's the age, but it sure is annoying especially when I used to be able to sit on the couch and nurse him to sleep while watching tv with Mike after the big boys are in bed.. oh well, everything is a stage with a baby/kid!

We love you Silas!  Can't wait to see how much you grow and change in the next 6 months!
