"YES!!"

Mike and I noticed something interesting about Rowan this weekend- he WILL NOT say the word "yes." I'm sure that he CAN say it he just won't. I f we ask him a yes/no question and his answer is yes he will say "mmm huh" with his lips closed tightly. We try to have little yes/no arguments with him we say yes he says no, back and forth for a while and then we switch and say no ( you know to try and "trick" him) well he doesn't miss a beat and closes his mouth and says "mmm huh!"

I know it's normal for toddlers to prefer to answer to everything, but what about refusing to say the word yes!!

Another 3 day weekend- of sickness!!

I swear we can't catch a break in this house!! Last weekend Rowan was throwing up, and then I got a bad cold. The last time we had a three day weekend Rowan had a bad cold. I was really looking forward to get some stuff done around the house this weekend, and spending Monday running some errands while Rowan was at DayCare, but of course none of that happened. Not only have I been sick all week, but I got worse as the weekend started. I spent all day Saturday and Sunday feeling awful: congested, coughing, fever, aches all over!! All I wanted to do was sleep, but that was impossible for some reason. Sunday Rowan started getting sick with a fever and congestion. We actually both felt better today w/ no fevers, so decided to go in town and do some errands, but I feel so drained- guess my body is still getting over whatever I've had. I don't know if it was the flu or a cold or what, but it was awful. I really never get sick like this, and I never have a fever!! Maybe it hit me harder cause I'm pregnant?

And just cause he's so cute...

Rowan's BIG GIANT
HOUSE!!!

Snow Day

Last week we had a big snowstorm, since everything was closed we all got to spend the day at home. Rowan loved plqying in the snow and sledding with Daddy.

Of course only two days later it warmed up and started raining, melting all the snow. Rowan was quite dissapointed to wake up and see that all the snow on the "mountain" was gone!

The mountain is actually the top of an underground storm shelter, that is at our neighbors across the street. Rowan calls it a mountain.

Another weekend of sickness...

Rowan started throwing up last night at 7:30pm and pretty much got sick every 30-45mins. until 3am. We are all exhausted today!! Well everyone except Rowan who seems to not mind only getting 5hrs. of sleep. We had to postpone all our weekend plans until Sunday- hopefully he will be better.

The baby was moving so much last night, maybe he always does and I don't realize it cause I am asleep, or maybe he was mad that we were up so late?

My two boys

Here is our baby boy. Rowan is still calling him brother-sister, but he will now say that he is a boy. I've watched the video of the ultrasound almost every night. It is so neat, he is sleeping with his hand on his chest and then turns his head and starts moving his mouth!!! SO amazing, it doesn't even seem real. He is very active- way more than Rowan was, although since Rowan now never stops moving, hopefully this boy will be a little more calm later on.

We are trying to narrow down some names and so far some of our favorites are: Miles, Oliver, and Eli- not directly related to the Superbowl, although probably how we got the name in our heads. Of course Rowan is going through an "I don't like...!" stage, so everything we say- whether it's a baby name or what's for supper, he loudly lets us know he doesn't like it.

Rowan- who is enjoying some "coffee" aka hot cocoa, in the photo above, has learned how to spell his name. He says R-O-W-H-N, but it's pretty close- A and H do sound a lot a like. He peed in the potty yesterday, and wants to sit on it constantly- but usually doesn't actually go in it, so I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. I suppose any interest is better than none.

I am defientely not as tired as I was at the beginning of this pregnancy, but now feel like I am starting to move towards the sleeping problems I had when pregnant with Rowan. I am starting to wake up more at night and it seems like it is taking me longer to fall asleep, I also haevne't felt like napping on the weekends- which I kind of miss. I am halfway done with this pregnancy, I just hope the second half goes fast.

It's a BOY!!!

Everything looks good, he was moving around like crazy!! We got a video of him moving his mouth- so cute, it looked like he was chewing!! Rowan liked seeing him on the screen, but he is still saying brother-sister. After he settled down we watched him just lay there with his hand on his chest. Now I only wish I had kept more of Rowan's baby clothes- what was I thinking?
