Since all the boys birthday's are so close together- especially Eli and Silas we decided to do a joint party with the grandparents. That way they only had to drive to our house once and we only had to entertain ( ie. buy and make food!) once. It worked out great! Eli loved the idea and Silas really could care less so it was perfect.
It's still hard to believe that Silas is 2! He is at such a fun age right now, I really like this age. How all the sudden he has strong opinions on things- like wanting to wear his pj top to swimming lessons or insisting on holding a baseball at every single baseball game or practice. How he only eats a cheese stick if the wrapper is still on it, or won't eat an apple if it's cut up. It's definitely hard to deal with at times, but for the most part I think it's a fun age!
He seems to be in a growth spurt and is eating like crazy! He finally started sleeping all night and it's in his crib!! WooHoo! He stopped nursing about 2 weeks before his bday and the sleeping better was right around the same time. He has had some mornings where he wakes up way too early so I bring him in and let him go back to sleep with us but usually he sleeps until 7 or 8 in the crib.
He still doesn't talk much, lots of sounds though just not words so he'll be having a speech eval. soon and most likely starting early intervention as well. His speech habits really remind me of Eli. He understands everything though and shakes his head yes and no. He also says "ess" for yes and when he wants to say no he kinda makes a face and says "uh" it's hard to type the sound but he definitely means no! He gets his point across. He points to stuff too so we have no problem figuring out what he wants!
Most of his bday presents were balls or baseball related because he loves those things! He got a bat and even got his own tee so he can try to hit the ball! Rowan and Eli play with it just as much as he does! He got a little pool too and loves it. I can't wait to take him swimming in a real pool soon!
^^ last night sleeping as a 1 year old!
We put streamers at the end of the hall and filled the hall with balloons for his bday morning! He didn't know what to think about that!
