3 Months

Didn't I just blog that he turned 2 months??

18lbs 8 oz in a onesie and a diaper!

Silas has been congested lately - thanks Eli!- finally broke out the humidifier and that seems to be helping.

He's been pretty in to chewing on his hands and slobbering a lot! Hoping no teeth pop out for awhile.

He's leaning forward ( above) when I sit him against something. No rolling yet though. I really don't remember when those things happen anyway...

He kicks his legs a lot, especially when he's in the bouncy seat.

He thinks his brothers are hilarious and loves it when we yell at them ;)

He's getting more into toys and loves trying to grab things. Rowan and Eli get excited when he holds onto anything.

2 Down!

I'm still finishing up from the big room switch. For some reason Silas doesn't want to spend 5 hours being ignored! So it's taking a while. I have a giant pile of stuff in the dining room I need to go through, but yesterday I decided to tackle my room.

I didn't take before pictures but it was basically several Rubbermaid bins and lots of clothes. For some reason when Silas was a few weeks old I thought it would be a good idea to go through my super full messy closet. WRONG!! You should not do this right after having a baby, especially right after having a giant baby, especially when you were so big your maternity clothes barely fit at the end... So anyway, we've spent the past 2 months looking at all these clothes and I finally put them up. I packed up all the too small shirts and pants in containers in the closet so I don't have to look at them when I get dressed. Soon. Soon...

On the rug is where all the clothes were.

Close up of the cutie on the bed!

I cleaned off the desk enough so i i could use it. I still have papers to go through in that turquoise basket but I love not looking at the mess! The changing table was in the area the desk is now. Mike spray painted the filing cabinet. It was really ugly and a bit rusty. We just used what we had on hand that's why it's blue but it works!

Now I just need to finish up the dining room mess and we'll be back to normal!

Open House (s)

Rowan and Eli both had their open houses for school last week. Luckily they were on different nights!

Eli's was on Tuesday and he was so excited to show us his room. I think he was surprised to see so many people there and was shy at first!

We even played on the playground for a bit! He was so proud and it was so cute every time he'd say hi to one of his friends.

Rowan's was on Thursday. He took charge leading us through the halls and showing us where everything is. Talking to his friends and random people in the halls...

Eli loved seeing Rowan's room too!

His teacher said he's doing great! And commented on how Rowan sometimes likes to argue but he likes that he actually talks unlike some kids. I was glad to hear that he is still himself at school. Rowan has his own thoughts and strong opinions about things. As annoying as it can be its a big part of him and I'd hate to see him change that because of where he is - school.

12 weeks

Last Friday Silas turned 12 weeks! Which means if I had a real job I most likely would have went back to work yesterday. So glad I don't have a real job!

I'd much rather spend my days holding this boy

Especially since I know how quickly they grow.

Saturday we went to Homer Lake for the 2nd weekend in a row so the kids could play at the Natural Playscape. It's great, they love it and of course spent the whole time playing in the creek area.

The point of this place is for kids to just play. No brightly colored plastic jungle gym. It's rocks and water and branches. You know real things. There was an obnoxious controlling dad there who was telling his son exactly what to do and when. Clearly he doesn't get the point... Rowan can usually be found carrying handfuls of sand and rocks to the top to make a damn.

There's a new cupcake shop in Homer I had been wanting to try so we stopped and picked up a few things to have after our picnic lunch. So good!

I hope we have a lot more nice weekends left so we can enjoy being outside!

Ch Ch Changes!

A few weeks ago I got the brilliant idea to move Rowan and Eli to the " office/ sewing/ craft room" aka the JUNK room! Mike wasn't too excited about this at all ( he just loves it when I come up with this stuff! ;)

The office room is bigger than their bedroom and has a lot of stuff in it, and none of it gets used. It's the room where we put everything that doesn't have a place. But if it doesn't have a place we probably don't need it! It's gotten so bad lately because it's not a priority so I never clean it ( new baby remember?). Once the desktop computer stopped working nobody had a reason to go in there and when I see I just bring the machine to the dining room table. So I finally convinced him that by switching stuff around we can actually use all the space in our house!

This is their old room. Small but cute.

I love the blue but painting the new room just isn't going to work right now.

Here are the before and afters in the new room. I swear it wasn't always this messy ;)

We all love it!

They have so much more floor space so they can actually play in their room instead of the living room! Rowan has actually been reading all the books on the bookshelf too- on his own!

The closet is nice too. The old room had a small closet and not enough room for a dresser so Rowan had the closet and Eli's clothes were in a dresser in our room ( that he now shared with Silas). I'm still not putting a dresser in there so they have more room but the big closet and drawer containers are perfect! The cubbies hanging on the middle are where we put school clothes for the week. Pick it out on Sunday and then we don't have to worry about it!

Silas will have their old room and the desk is now in our room and Goodwill got a whole bunch of stuff! Now if I can get the other rooms organized my dining room can look normal again!

Get it!

Silas is starting to try and grab stuff! It's so fun watching him.

His brain and arms aren't working together yet but he'll get it. And probably soon.
