Going Green for Earth Day

I've been feeling very annoyed with how wasteful people re lately, I don't know why but I seem to be taking it personally when I see someone grab a stack of napkins and then throw them ALL away even though only one or two were used. I'm not sure if it's more about the environment or just from growing up poor- but I just don't get how people can be like this?! So since I can not change everyone to be just like how I want them to be, I figure we will just do more ourselves and teach our boys to be the same so they don't grow up so wasteful.

Some GREEN things we are already or will be doing:

-We already recycle cans, and I would like to do more, but Mike isn't really all about the effort if we can't get paid for it- so we will have to see about this one!

-We have decided to switch to using reusable bags instead of plastic, we don't have enough right now but I am going to make a real effort to have enough by the end of the month.

-We used cloth diapers with Rowan, but got out of the habit quite awhile ago. I am working on building my supply back up and plan on ONLY using cloth with the baby- except for overnight trips.

-We use the clothes line, and will more as it gets warm. I just need to make myself get up earlier so I can wash and hang out clothes before I go to work!

Finally Spring

Rowan in his new favorite shirt "Mr. Messy Chocolate Milk Shirt!"
(He calls everything brown chocolate milk.)

It has actually been nice here all week, so we are hoping it will stick around and the cold is gone- at least for a few months! We got to go to playgroup last night and Rowan loved running around outside with all his friends.

MMmmmm Turkey!!

Mike made some turkey legs for dinner the other night, Rowan was quite excited about them and insisted on having his own! Of course he didn't eat it all.

30 down, 10 to go

Me at 30 weeks!

Fun at home

I finally bought Rowan some play-doh and he loved it, first we made snakes Then we made a bear/bunny not sure what it turned out to be but he was having fun!Last weekend it was finally nice out so we went out and played with bubbles, Rowan was having problems actually "blowing" the bubbles so instead he just ran with the bubble wand and it worked just as well.

Rowan falling, from running so fast with the bubbles.
Of course the nice weather can't ever last forever, and this weekend will be cold rainy and maybe even snowy!! Rowan and I are getting colds again so I'm sure we'll have a fun sick weekend stuck in the house again!! Next week it is supposed to be in the 70's so maybe spring will stick around eventually!! We are ready for it!!

We had another appointment this week, I am now 30 weeks! I saw the midwife and everything looks good. Baby is head down- which I pretty much knew since his head is pressing on my bladder constantly! My blood sugars have been really good and I think I am doing a lot better with the diet, no cheating! I guess I just won't get sugar till he's born. In 2 weeks we see the Dr. and will have another sonogram, we had a 32 week sono with Rowan and they estimated his weight at 4lbs. 9oz. so it'll be neat to see how this baby compares to Rowan.

Rowan's 1st kiss!!

Rowan's playdate ended in his first boy- girl kiss!! :) How cute!!

Then he read her some books and tucked her in bed, I guess he's practicing for when he becomes a big brother. He even shared his new sunglasses!! He actually did really well sharing his toys this time, usually everything is his, his, his!!!
