Cooling off.....

Our heatwave seems to have broken, at least for now. To celebrate we went outside! My kids seem to have forgotten how to play outside so they mostly just whined about going inside....

We did have a nice wall to the post office this morning/- and we weren't covered in sweat after the 5 minute walk! Woohoo!!


We were invited to a friends house to swim today. I thought Eli would be too scared to Get in, boy was I wrong!

At one point Eli took the ring off ( his suit had floaties and he had the arm things) and pushed off the side kicking away from me :)


We put them to bed early because they were both in some moods! Eli almost always starts out in his bed but we always find him with Rowan when we go to bed.

Summer Nights

Since it's been so hot lately we don't go outside much during the day. On the weekends we usually grill out a late dinner and eat outside when it's cooler. Tonight we had some after dinner cantaloupe.....


Then the boys discovered this odd thing Mike built to help move his pontoons(don't ask). It's kind of like a teeter- totter except it goes side to side and you stand.





When we finally come in we end the night with the projector and movienight!


The boys almost always pick Looney Tuned! They love this stuff and Rowan laughs like crazy during it!


Of course we hope they'll sleep in since they stay up late but usually not. We won't stop hoping though!

Lazy Summer Days

I love not working. Today I told Mike that we both really needto find a way to work from cause I love not working!! Rowan is still going to daycare so we are able to get a lot done around the house. We are going to put the tent up in the back yard and Mike and Rowan are going to "go camping" sometime soon. Rowan is excited cause we are going to make S'Mores!! I figure we probably won't get to go camping this summer- maybe at the end of the summer- but we still want Rowan do some fun stuff this summer. Since we are pretty much in the country we can have a real fire. Mike built a fire pit when we moved in and it is big enough to throw pallets in, so we can have a pretty big fire. It's lots of fun and Rowan loves it! I will be sleeping inside in my nice bed, close to the bathroom.

I finished my burb cloths today, I will have to post a pic of them. I also made sun tea- something I've always wanted to do, but just never got around to before. I am turning into quite the happy little homemaker- well at least for one day!!

Tomorrow I have an appt. w/ a midwife and then we are shopping for a dishwasher and stove! We are probably the last people to get a dishwasher and I want one NOW! We decided to get one that rolls over and hooks up to the sink, since it would be too much of a hassle to cut out cabinets. I don't really care as long as it washes the dishes!!

Rowan had a fever when I picked him up today. He spent the evening laying on me and we even took a late nap (I love summer!). We went outside and sat on the swing when it cooled off and it seemed to help him feel better. I'm sure it helped that there was a tractor in the field by our house that he got to watch!

I believe I will be getting 'checked" at my appointment tomorrow. As much as I don't want to hear that nothing is happening, I NEED to know if something is happening! Hopefully all of the pains I've been having mean something!
