7 Months

Wow, 7 months, I REALLY can't believe it. He is officially crawling, and moving way too quick, my house is so NOT ready for a baby on the move! He loves food even more than last month, and seems to not be able to get enough at meals. He does pretty well at sitting, but that whole balance thing takes a little time...

Always on the go

No teeth yet- but everything goes straight to his mouth

and he gets VERY upset when we take away something he shouldn't be chewing on

but, it doesn't take long for him to be back to his happy smiling self

His new favorite activity- destroying Rowan's train tracks

"what?"

"wasn't me"

they are good to chew on..

The Day in Pics...A LOT of Pics

Today we went with our meet-up group to Chuck E. Cheese. We had an absolute blast- but how could you not when spending an obscene amount of money and ending up with curly straws and suckers... Oh well, we always have a blast when we go there, and by always I mean the two times we've been there.
Rowan on his favorite ride

On the phone with Chuck...

Eli chillin in the sling...not easy to play skeeball with this- luckily we brought the stroller!

So after we spent 3 hours- and all our money- at C-E-C, we decided to head to the children's museum. We had never been there and I've heard great things about it so wanted to check it out. It was a lot of fun, although I do have a few complaints about it- but sometimes I'm just bitchy so maybe it's just me.

Rowan's reaction ....

me telling him THIS is what the inside of his body looks like- apparently you CAN be too young to know that!

Surprise!! A train table!!

Mike send the corn up the thing(?) kind of look like peas to me!

Rowan putting the "grain" in the bucket. AKA- Rowan cleaning up something withOUT even being asked!!

Pounding on the big wall of nails thing(I don't know what they're called).

Do you know who this is?
Ok, stop guessing- it's Mike.

Rowan painting on the wall- this was my favorite thing- all though there were so many kids I couldn't do it too... maybe next time.

More painting- I love how hard he's concentrating.

Playing in the water table

The ride home...quiet

But we had one last stop before leaving home... and yes I actually took this picture just so I could put it on my blog!

And now my museum complaints...
-There were hardly any signs to tell you what to do at some of the exhibits, the one w/ the grain and having to crank the balls up and then get them on the other side and bring back...repeat...NO SIGNS, I only knew what to do cause I saw someone else do it first.
-They had a nursing nook- which of course should be a good thing, and I was going to go sit and nurse Eli there, but when I sat in the chair and the seat was half broke. I kind of hate those rocking chairs they have in nursing rooms- they are never comfortable the arms are too high and you can't really hold the baby right...but that's a different issue.
-TRAIN TABLES- I get that kids LOVE these things, and although we don't have the table we have tracks and they are all over my living room everyday. So, why do these places have to have these and why do they have to be right in the front so the first thing a kid sees is the damn train table. Why on each floor does there have to be some kind of track, road, rug that looks like a road w/ trucks, tractors and trains. I'm ok with it at like the library, but I don't want to go somewhere and pay money for my kid to play with a train table- he can do that at home. They should at least have really cool like rollercoaster style tracks if they MUST have them.

Alright I feel better now- sorry for my little rant- but this is MY blog!

Why I am SOMETIMES ok with Winter...

Because every once and a while there is an absolutely GORGEOUS day that we just have to be outside to enjoy. I didn't even realize it was so nice till I passed the weather channel and saw 48- so I got Rowan up from the nap he wasn't taking and we got out.

You would've thought Rowan hadn't been outside in MONTHS- ok so maybe he hasn't! He was screaming like crazy, and ran almost the whole way to the post office because he was so excited! I've been slacking at this whole blog thing lately, but Mike's back in school now so hopefully soon I'll get back on it- I'm sure everyone misses me SO MUCH!!!!

Lick It!!

The Good Life

Snow and cocoa- does it get any better? Well it could be warmer for me, but he seemed ok with it. This was yesterday though, when the temp was still ABOVE zero.

and Just Because...

I don't want to bore anyone with only a post about my husband. Here's a few of Eli from this past week.

He is starting to nap a teeny bit better, well he is at least falling asleep by himself in the crib, even if he only stays alseep for 30mins at a time. I'm sure we'll build up to a decent nap eventually- baby steps, baby steps.

We are teaching ELi a few signs (as in sign language), this is a picture of him signing "more." Ok, if you happen to know the sign for "more" you know this is a pretty bad example of it- BUT he has done better, I just couldn't get a better picture of it.

He's doing an awful lot of this, and even though he's not technically "crawling" he is getting around-way too fast.

The Many Faces of...

I pretty much hate them all except for clean shaven. Would you believe he actually wore the mustache only for a while!? Seriously, it's creepy right? :)

6 Months

Wow 6 months, I really can't believe he is 6 months already. It feels like we just came home with him. He is changing so much everyday, he is getting close to crawling, he goes backwards a little and in circles sometimes. He does this thing where he pushes up on his toes and fingers- it's pretty funny and makes me laugh every time he does it! He had his 6 month check up last week and is 20lbs!! We are now on the search for a new car seat! They said he was 27in., but he was pretty squirmy so I don't really pay attention to that. He is mostly wearing 9-12month clothes, we even had to exchange some 9month pants he got for X-mas (the bulky cloth diapers don't help much w/ that!). He LOVES eating food and is way more into it than Rowan was at his age. We are looking for new stuff to buy so he can try some different stuff- we make all our baby food (but I'm sure that doesn't surprise you right? ;) ).

He really is such a happy baby, Rowan wasn't an overly fussy baby or anything, but he was no where near as happy as Eli. Of course he does have his moments, but most of the time he is just happy happy!! I can't wait to see what he's going to be like when he's older. Mike thinks he's going to be more of a handful than Rowan- I don't really see how that could possibly happen!

He grabs at everything, I'm pretty sure he would have not appreciated the words I used the other day when he touched my NEW camera w/ sweet potatoes on his hands!! Good thing he doesn't understand too much yet!

He's starting to drool more, no teeth yet, but I'm sure it won't be long before I have to put bibs on him more often. Or just staqrt changing his clothes a lot.

He loves to clap, and gets really excited when we say "Yeah Eli!" and clap with him. He is so much fun! He's still almost sitting up. If only we could get through all his sleeping issues everything would be great all the time, but that is a whole different post :)

Happy New Year!!!

We had a great night planned- lots of snacks, sparkly drinks, fun hats. We were all set to watch the ball drop, Rowan was excited to stay up and watch it- I figured he could make it until 11pm and watch the ball drop at least for New York's New Year. We ate our dinner of yummy snack/ party food in front of the TV (gasp..) and danced in the living room. Eli stayed up way later than he should have and was a bit fussy!! Mike dozed on the couch at 9pm and Rowan started in with our sparkly drinks. Eli finally went to sleep (well for a little while), and Rowan and I "partied"

The news came on at 10pm and interrupted our evening, Rowan lasted until about 10:15 and then crashed on the couch. I lasted till about 10pm and then I was out too, Mike says he made it till midnight but I don't really know if he did. Who would have thought it would be so hard to stay up until midnight- I mean really 12am that's it, and I couldn't even do that!! Oh well maybe next year!

I do have Eli's 6 month pics that I will try and get up before he turns 6 months, but I have a new addiction. Like everyone else in the world I am now reading the TWilight books and am officially hooked- it did take about 100pages before I felt that way though. I just hope I can get the 3rd book before I finish the 2nd I don't want to be left in suspense for too long! Hopefully I'll get through them soon and get back to my life- cleaning the house reading blogs, taking care of the kids.......
